JSON Formatter & Validator

Paste JSON below to format it with clean indentation, compress it onto one line, or check whether it parses. Errors come back with the exact line and column when the parser can point to them. Your input is processed locally on your device; the tool sends nothing you paste anywhere.

What this tool does

Formatting parses your JSON and reprints it with two-space indentation so nested API responses and config files become readable. Minifying does the opposite: the same data on a single line with no whitespace, useful for environment variables and request bodies. Validate only checks the syntax and reports whether the document parses. When it doesn't, the parser's error location shows up immediately: a trailing comma, an unquoted key, or a mismatched brace.

Because the text is parsed and reprinted rather than copied, the output is a normalized version of your input: integer-like keys may be reordered, and numbers with more than 15 significant digits can lose precision. Keep the original text when you need it byte-for-byte.

Because the tool is plain JavaScript running on your device, it also works as a private formatter for payloads you would not want to paste into a server-side service: tokens in config files, internal API responses, or customer data. What you paste is processed locally and sent nowhere by the tool.
